Day 1 (Thursday 29 June): Arrive in Belize City where you will be met by our private transport and taken to our first accommodation by the Belize River, less than an hour away. We will settle in, and meet up for a welcome dinner. Prepare to hear all sorts of jungle sounds!
Day 2 (Friday): We wake to the birds and go on a private boat ride down the river, spotting our first Belizean wildlife. If we’re lucky, American crocodiles, howler monkeys roaring from treetops, and countless bird species will come out to greet us. The views are a great introduction to Belize’s intoxicating wildlife and nature views. In the afternoon, we head out to the island of Caye Caulker. A water taxi ride will take us to an island paradise where the only wheels are golf carts and bicycles. We will be picked up at the dock and settle in at our seafront hotel–don’t miss the sunset today from our own private dock. ***It’s also possible that we arrive just as the Lobsterfest festival kicks off with the live cook off (wouldn’t that be bliss?)
Day 3 (Saturday): We will explore Caye Caulker the best way there is–by snorkeling its spectacular marine reserve along the Belize Barrier Reef. Our local guides will whip up ceviche on our private boat while we hop into turquoise waters filled with nurse sharks, stingrays, turtles and more. After the trip, you are free to relax on our dock, grab a drink at The Split, or bike around the caye for a local tour with a couple of special guides (more on this later).
Day 4 (Sunday): After breakfast, you have a free day to enjoy our dock, the island’s local restaurants, the festival–and to “go slow”–the island’s motto.
Day 5 (Monday): We say goodbye to our slice of island paradise and head inland, towards the jungles of Cayo. We check in at our gorgeous hilltop cabanas–take in the views of San Ignacio, explore the nearby Maya site. We have a big day tomorrow!
Day 6 (Tuesday): After breakfast, prepare yourself today because we will go for a ride deep into one of the most breathtaking landscapes in Belize, on a boat ride to a series of deserted waterfalls. Wear your swimsuit and leave your fears behind. Gotta keep some of it exciting! Dinner is on your own at the hotel or in town.
Day 7 (Wednesday): After breakfast we take seat in our private van and ride down the Hummingbird Highway–one of Belize’s most beautiful roads–down to the south, towards the Garifuna villages. We make a surprise stop along the way (to be revealed later). After that, we head to our beachfront suites to relax and take in the charming village beach vibes of Hopkins.
Day 8 (Thursday): After breakfast, we head to a one-of-a-kind experience: a Garifuna culture day (keeping the actual content as surprise). After the fun, you can chill out at our beachfront suite on Hopkins Beach, or relax poolside with cocktails before if you still have room in your bellies. It will be our last evening so we will all gather for dinner and say cheers to an Unbelizeable Belize!
Day 9 (Thursday): Depart by private van from Hopkins to Belize City, and onto the U.S.
